Jeff Utecht is an international teacher currently working in Shanghai, China. Prior to Shanghai, Jeff worked in Saudi Arabia and Washington State. Jeff uses blogging in his fourth grade class as a way to engage conversation with the students. He also uses blogging as silent reading time in his classroom to include reading blogs and web sites. Blogging helps his class hold conversations about writing, grammar, and about digital literacy. Also, the understanding of digital text. Blogging does not change good writing but, it allows the students to practice good writing in a new media.

Dr. Brucepk at Hsinchu International School in Taiwan uses blogging in his class as the students journals. They contain short, frequently updated post. He lets his students write about school or whatever is going on in their life. He says that this is a great way for students to get things off of their mind. The students feel more comfortable writing than actually sitting down and talking with the teacher or a counselor. He says he is going to stick with blogging because his students have all been successful with it.

International School of Kuala Lumpur is an independent and non profit school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It has three divisions: elementary school, middle school, and high school. It was established in 1965. It is the first American curriculum in Malaysia. It was also the first fully accredited international school in Malaysia.
Each classroom at the school is equipped with at least one networked computer with Internet access. Additional stations at the libraries and computer labs accommodate student needs for computer resources. Each student is provided with an account with ISKL Online, a bulletin-board and e-mail system which they can use to collaborate on academic work, store files, discuss ongoing events, communicate with teachers, and access school-related materials from home. ISKL Online has also been known for its use of students in its administration, as ever since its introduction its moderation and maintenance has been assisted by selected student system operators. Computers are regularly used in courses as well as after-school activities and the production of publications.
